We started out this morning with no solid plan for the day, we knew that we had seen a market being set up the day before just at the end of the street the hostel is on so we figured we’d have a look. Turns out it wasn’t the normal flea market that we are all used to back in North America; for some reason all they had for sale was really expensive shoes and womens accessories with the odd belt thrown in. But it was funny because it was soooo busy. There was a small man in a mouse costume selling something and yelling at everyone around him, so Carolyn got me to be in a picture with him, I think it looks funny at least. After the market we decided we would head back to harajuku and walk around one of the parks and see if we could spot any coz play girls around (the ones who dress up in different costumes around harajuku). One the way to the subway one of the weirdest things happened to us; We ran into one of the girls who we had been working with at the hotel in Chino! It really freaked us out that we could run into one person in a city of 35 million.
Once we arrived at the park we didn’t have much luck with the cos play but we did run into an impromptu reggae festival, it was really small but it had a few street vendors and someone playing music on a small stage. We ended up walking around the station for a while but didn’t see anything really worth mentioning. We took the train home just before we both started to get really tired of the crowds and went to Ueno station just to check out the area a little more before heading back to the hostel. I think tonight we are headed back to our friends hostel to see what they are doing for their last night in Tokyo, we might drop by for a drink or something. All in all a pretty exciting day for not having planned anything.
