City of Kitties

Well, we ended up going to check out the ropeway yesterday. The weather forecast told us that it was going to be a cloudy morning with blue skies in the afternoon, but as usual the forecast lied to us. We took the bus up there, and went up the cable car on the ropeway but the whole time we were there it was foggy and misty. So we didn`t get any great scenic shots, but we got some pretty cool fog ones.

Today we relaxed a little bit in the morning before heading to our first onsen. We chose a small one, so even though we were technically nude in public, there wasn`t anyone in either of our baths that saw us. After that we went out for lunch and decided to check out the monkey park, which surprisingly actually had monkeys all over the place. We thought that because it was a national reserve they would be hiding somewhere and we wouldn`t get to see any, but there were tons of them, as well as lots of stupid people. One woman tried to grab a baby monkey to take a picture with…maybe not such a good idea. She was lucky she didn`t get bitten or something. Another monkey stole someone`s medication and ran off with it, but one of the workers there threatened him with a rock and he dropped it and ran away. There was another monkey sitting in front of the women`s washroom and a woman tried to go in but he hissed at her, so she ran over to us and started talking quickly in Japanese. Mike went and scared the monkey away so the poor lady could go pee.

On our way back to the hostel, we must have walked by at least two dozen cats, one of them let me pet her too. I love kitties!
